Seminyak, Bali, Indonesia

While in Seminyak I stayed at the Capsule Hostel in their purple light dorm room. This hostel experience was one of my best. The little capsule home space was my own little cozy cave to sleep in equipped with a booklight and drop down laptop table. There was also a movie lounge right outside my room with oversize bean bag chairs to fall into while hanging out. The downstairs bar was always full of backpackers and the bartender was spectacular making mixologist-style fresh fruit juice cocktails, or you can get a beer. Get anything delivered from traditional Indonesian noodle and rice dishes to Western pizza from Domino’s.

Sunday Pool Party

My alien friend Lizzy that I met during my stay at the Matra Bali Surf Camp in Canggu, invited me to a Sunday pool party with some of her new Canadian friends at their private villa near my hostel….. why not?

We went to Single Fin’s beach party in Uluwatu after for a perfect sunset. It was one of the biggest parties of the year, and the 3 tier deck was filled with a young surfer backpacking crowd. We had a few drinks and mingled overlooking a spectacular view of the southern tip of Bali. The guys treated us to an extravagant dinner at Il Ristorante; definitely not in my backpacking budget but definitely made for a very Happy 30th Birthday for me!

Smoothie Bowls & Namaste

This was pretty much my morning routine: Smoothie bowl from cute cafe next door then Yoga. I found this studio on a random scooter ride through Canggu one morning. The instructors were awesome, classes were small, and they had a vegan friendly cafe too.

So Many Cute Coffee Shops and Cafes

You literally just walk down the street and there are the cutest little businesses everywhere! They are all so authentic with different personalities and delicious food options. Everywhere pretty much has free wifi and you will find a lot of internet nomads hanging out during the day.
