Hampi, India

Mounds of giant boulders scattered throughout the landscape as far as the eye can see mixed with luscious green palm trees and rice paddy fields make Hampi an astounding sight to see. A playground for giants as larger boulders are stacked on smaller ones and having no trace of where they came from. We rented a tuk tuk for the day visiting the different UNESCO sights in the hot southern Indian heat and took advantage of the photo opportunity since few other travelers were visiting at this time of year.

She wanted a picture with us but was too shy to ask, so her husband asked us for her. Right after she ran away, but we called her back over because we wanted one too.

You can’t tell by their faces but they were so excited to take a picture with us. It’s in their culture not to smile big for the camera and instead do a straight face.

I fell in love with this tree.
